Booking status
What do the booking statuses mean?
"Requested" — your request is with the instructor. "Accepted" — instructor has accepted, awaiting payment. "Confirmed" — payment received, lesson is locked in. "Cancelled" — the booking was cancelled. Status updates are also emailed to you.
Where can I see the status of my booking?
From your customer dashboard. Every status change is emailed, and the latest status is always shown there.

How do I contact support?
Open a support case from your customer dashboard, message us on WhatsApp, or email hello@awecean.com. Please include your booking number if the question is about a specific booking.
How fast will I get a reply?
We aim to reply within one business day. Urgent safety issues are prioritized.
How booking works
How do I book a surf lesson?
Pick your city, choose an instructor and a time slot, and send a booking request. Your instructor reviews the request. Once they accept, you get a secure payment link. Your booking is confirmed only after payment.
Do I need an account to book?
Yes. A quick account lets us send booking updates, payment links, and support messages, and lets your instructor contact you before the lesson.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can. Popular slots fill up, and your instructor needs time to review and accept your request before the lesson.
Instructor approval
How does AWECEAN choose its instructors?
Every instructor on AWECEAN completes an interview, provides ID verification, accepts the Instructor Agreement and Safety Standards, and is approved for the specific service areas and surf spots where they teach.
Can I book any instructor at any beach?
Only for the surf spots the instructor is approved to teach at. This keeps lessons in familiar water for your instructor and safer for you.
Instructor contact
When will my instructor contact me?
At least one day before your lesson, your instructor will reach out to confirm the meeting point and time. If you have not heard from them by then, open a support case and we will follow up.
How can I contact my instructor before the lesson?
After your booking is confirmed, contact details are shared through your booking confirmation. Please use them only for lesson coordination.
Lesson types
What is a Private Surf Lesson?
One student with one instructor. 90 minutes. $90 total. Best for the most personal attention and fastest progress.
What is a Couple / Semi-Private Surf Lesson?
Two students with one instructor. 90 minutes. $150 total ($75 per person). Great for friends, couples, or a parent and child sharing a lesson.
What is a Small Group Surf Lesson?
Three or four students with one instructor. 90 minutes. $60 per person. A friendly, social way to learn.
How long is every lesson?
90 minutes, regardless of lesson type.
Meeting point
Where do I meet my instructor?
Your instructor confirms the exact meeting point directly with you before the lesson. The general beach or surf spot is shown on your booking confirmation.
How early should I arrive?
Aim to arrive 10–15 minutes before your lesson time so you can meet the instructor, complete the safety briefing, and be ready in the water on time.
Payment
How do I pay?
After your instructor accepts your booking request, you receive a secure Stripe payment link. Your booking is confirmed only after successful payment.
What payment methods are accepted?
All major cards accepted by Stripe. Currency depends on your card — the price you see at checkout is the price you pay.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe. AWECEAN never sees or stores your full card details.
Prices
How much does a surf lesson cost?
Private Surf Lesson: $90 total. Couple / Semi-Private (2 people): $150 total. Small Group: $60 per person (3–4 people). Prices are in USD and shown per lesson.
Are there extra booking fees?
No booking fees on top of the lesson price. Payment processing is absorbed by AWECEAN, not passed to you.
What is included
What is included in the lesson price?
Your certified instructor for a 90-minute lesson, a surfboard, and a wetsuit or rash guard depending on water conditions. Safety briefing and in-water coaching are part of every lesson.
What is not included?
Transportation to the meeting point, food and drinks, photos or video, umbrellas, chairs, lockers, and any personal equipment beyond a board and wetsuit.
What to bring
What should I bring?
A swimsuit, a towel, sunscreen (reef-safe if possible), and drinking water. If you have your own rash guard or wetsuit you prefer, bring it — otherwise your instructor provides one.
Do I need to bring my own surfboard?
No. A suitable board is included in every lesson.
